Infor LN consultant cost is not one number. The market has three layers, and the layer you buy from changes the price more than the consultant's skill does.
Quick answer: Advertised UK contract rates for Infor LN sit around £625 a day (ITJobsWatch median, October 2026, from a small sample of adverts). The 10th percentile is about £504 and the 75th about £650. Infor partners and systems integrators price higher: the G-Cloud 15 ceiling rates NTT DATA lists for Infor support run from £815 a day at SFIA level 2 to £2,125 a day at level 6. An independent consultant usually sits nearer the contractor end, but the figure you should budget is the price of the work you need done, not the day rate.
I'm an independent Infor LN consultant, so I'm one of the options this page compares. Weigh that when you read it, and check the figures against the sources at the bottom.
What do Infor LN consultants charge per day in the UK?
These are the three reference points you can check yourself. None of them is a quote.
| Source | What it measures | Day rate |
| ITJobsWatch, Infor LN contract roles | Advertised contract rates, small sample, October 2026 | Median about £625 (10th percentile about £504, 75th about £650) |
| ITJobsWatch, ERP contracts generally | Advertised rates across all ERP products | Median about £550 |
| G-Cloud 15, NTT DATA (Infor support provider) | Ceiling rates by SFIA level | About £815 (level 2) to £2,125 (level 6) |
Two cautions. First, adverts are what agencies say they will pay, not what you will be charged: an agency adds its own margin on top. Second, G-Cloud rates are ceilings, the most a supplier can charge under the framework. What you actually pay may be lower, so use them as an upper marker for what a large supplier's price list looks like.
What pushes the price up or down?
- Functional or technical. A functional consultant works on process, configuration, data and reporting. Technical work, such as customisation or integration, is a different skill and is often priced differently.
- Version and platform. LN 10.3, 10.7, 10.8 and CloudSuite behave differently, and multi-tenant cloud adds constraints on what can be changed. Fewer people know the older versions well, which can raise the price.
- Data volume and mess. Migrating four legacy systems costs more than loading one clean item file. The state of your source data matters more than the row count.
- Urgency. A cutover in six weeks costs more than one in six months. Rushed work is also where the hidden costs below start.
- On-site or remote. Travel and time on site add cost. Plenty of data and reporting work can be done remotely, but some warehouse and shop-floor work needs a person in the building.
- Who carries the risk. A fixed price shifts risk to the supplier, so it is usually priced with that in mind. A day rate leaves the risk with you.
What does an Infor LN engagement usually look like?
There are three common shapes, and they suit different problems.
- A fixed-scope review. You get a defined set of deliverables for a set price. My Data Readiness Review runs 5 to 10 days and produces a source inventory, a data quality issue register, a reconciliation checklist, an owner matrix and a prioritised fix plan. It is quoted as a fixed price after a 30-minute call.
- A block of days. You buy a set number of days against a list of tasks, such as fixing master data, building reconciliation reports or covering a gap in your team. Cheap to start, but you need to manage it.
- A project. A full implementation or upgrade with a team, a plan and a steering group. That usually means a partner or systems integrator, with independents sometimes filling specific roles inside it.
What costs never appear on the rate card?
- Agency margin. If a contractor reaches you through an agency, the rate you pay is higher than the rate they receive. Ask for the split.
- Partner overhead. Project management, quality assurance and account management are real work, but you are paying for them in the day rate whether you need them or not.
- Handover gaps. A contractor who leaves takes their knowledge with them unless you insist on written deliverables.
- Rework after a bad cutover. This is usually the biggest cost. If stock, open orders or opening balances load wrongly, you pay twice: once for the load and once for the clean-up, plus the days your own team spend arguing about which numbers are right. My guide to why ERP data migrations fail covers how that happens.
- Your own time. Whoever you hire, your finance, warehouse and purchasing people will spend days answering questions. Plan for it.
How should you budget for Infor LN consultancy?
- Write down the outcome first. "Reconcile stock and open orders before test load two" is budgetable. "Some LN help" is not.
- Get three quotes in the same shape. Ask each supplier for a fixed price for the same scope, plus their day rate for anything outside it.
- Ask what is excluded. Support after go-live, travel, your own team's time and rework are the usual gaps.
- Hold back a contingency. Data work uncovers things nobody knew about. A reserve of days you can release when it does is cheaper than a change request mid-project.
- Test the cheap thing first. A short review before you commit to a large migration budget shows you whether the big number is realistic.
When is an independent not the right choice?
Be honest with yourself about these, because an independent is the wrong answer more often than their marketing admits.
- You need a full implementation team. One person cannot be your functional lead, technical lead, tester and project manager at once. I can bring in a partner for extra capacity, but if you need a whole team from day one, buy from a firm built for that.
- You need 24/7 support. I have never run a support service, and I won't pretend otherwise. If you need a service desk with round-the-clock cover and service levels, look at a support provider.
- Your procurement rules require a framework supplier. Some organisations can only buy through approved lists, which an independent may not be on.
- You want to buy from a firm with many people behind it. If one person being ill or unavailable is a risk you can't accept, say so up front.
If those describe you, read contractor, partner or independent: who does your Infor LN project need? for a fair comparison.
Infor LN consultant cost: common questions
What is the average day rate for an Infor LN contractor in the UK?
ITJobsWatch showed a median of about £625 a day for UK Infor LN contract roles in October 2026, with the 10th percentile near £504 and the 75th near £650. It is a small sample of adverts, so treat it as a marker rather than a price list.
Why do Infor partners charge more than contractors?
A partner or systems integrator carries overhead a contractor does not: bench staff, account management, quality assurance, insurance and usually a support service. G-Cloud 15 ceiling rates for NTT DATA, an Infor support provider, run from £815 a day at SFIA level 2 to £2,125 at level 6.
Is a fixed-price Infor LN review cheaper than a day rate?
Not always cheaper, but it caps your exposure. A fixed-scope review such as the Data Readiness Review is quoted as a fixed price after a 30-minute call, so you know the cost before work starts and the deliverables are written down.
Do you need a functional or a technical Infor LN consultant?
Most data, process and reporting problems need a functional consultant who understands the business process and the data underneath it. Technical work such as customisation, integration or tools development is a separate skill. Many projects need some of each, so say which you are buying.
